Windows RT and Cisco VPN connections

I'm a little worried about Windows RT's (current) inability to connect to Cisco firewalls via VPN.The only thing I can find on this issue is finger pointing between Cisco and Microsoft. I understand Cisco needs to create an app, but can they with the current restraints? It should be a no brainer for Microsoft to do what they can to make this happen.

This is pretty much a make or break need for us. I really wanted to give Windows RT a chance but if this isn't cleared up, I have no compelling case to deploy Windows tablets.

Does anyone know if Microsoft will work with Cisco on this? Or do you think this is getting squashed for a reason? I don't see why because MS is allowing other VPN connections.

    And yet we still don't get an answer from Microsoft. Why are you not busting down Cisco's door to work with them on this? Do not take your enterprise customers for granted. Android and Apple are moving in very fast and furious.

    We have used forefront uag server, which works well... however it is being dropped from the price catalog as of July. I also manage multiple Cisco vpn... give me an rt client, please... outlook is here I just need VPNs.  the pro is not what I'm after... this is a companion device (Nokia 2520) not a desktop or laptop replacement. Until I have Cisco VPN support I will continue to use an ipad more than rt.  not that I want to..i just can't make rt work.  the pro is a brick..so is the pro2...we own them all.

    VPN is a basic thing that is required in enterprise products and Cisco's VPN is most famous in enterprise world. 

    Everyone saying 8.1 RT is enterprise ready, is it? If its not already supported, they must be doing something about it. This thread really needs an educated answer about what are the strengths and limitations of VPN on RT, from TechNet guys. I guess we also need to ask this question in TechNet Windows 8.1 networking forum.

    I have Windows RT  8.1 and I don't see anything in the VPN connection properties indicating "full" support for IPSec groupname+password authentication, which is essentially what most companies using Cisco VPN seem to utilize.  I could be wrong and I even hope I'm wrong, but I don't think so.

    ...but the only IPSec authentication supported is still through a certificate or pre-shared key.

    Feel free to post a screenshot of the appropriate Win RT 8.1 dialog to prove me wrong.  Please prove me wrong.

    Since you have Windows RT device, can you do all of us a favor: call Microsoft support, ask them what they got to say about VPN from various vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Checkpoint etc.) and let us know what is their take?

    Windows 8 is not currently supported on the city network with Cisco Anyconnect at this time.
