I'm a little worried about Windows RT's (current) inability to connect to Cisco firewalls via VPN.The only thing I can find on this issue is finger pointing between Cisco and Microsoft. I understand Cisco needs to create an app, but can they with the current restraints? It should be a no brainer for Microsoft to do what they can to make this happen.
This is pretty much a make or break need for us. I really wanted to give Windows RT a chance but if this isn't cleared up, I have no compelling case to deploy Windows tablets.
Does anyone know if Microsoft will work with Cisco on this? Or do you think this is getting squashed for a reason? I don't see why because MS is allowing other VPN connections.

"Windows RT devices come with an in-box VPN client implementation that is fully compatible with Microsoft Routing and Remote Access Server (RRAS) and supports both IPSec and SSL-based VPN access. The supported VPN protocols include PPTP, L2TP/IPsec, IKEv2 and SSTP."
I'm throwing my vote on the petition list. I got my RT tablet hoping to free up some space in my bag but eventually found that it can work for far more of my needs at work than I thought. The one big think it's missing for me is this VPN client.
Here's to one last string of faith that Microsoft has any shred of hope left for this device and can enable these companies to create apps.

Sounds great DJ - except this thread is about the Surface RT - I trust that you just picked up a Surface. You can't just browse to a site and install software on the RT... It has to be exposed in the marketplace, and for the Juniper VPN client or the Cisco VPN client, the software vendors (Juniper, Cisco, etc.) need to 1.) be willing to invest the time in doing so and 2.) need to have access to the right API..
So no "ID10Ts" in this thread about the Surface RT. I'm glad you are having success with your Surface non RT, though.
Why no just look on the web for an answer?? I just picked up my device yesterday. It took me 5 minutes to find an answer. I just downloaded Shrew Soft VPN, imported my PCF file, and I'm already connecting to my office network. I'm also an IT Manager, but it didn't take a whole lot of time to figure this out. A lot easier than ID10T is handling it.
