I'm a little worried about Windows RT's (current) inability to connect to Cisco firewalls via VPN.The only thing I can find on this issue is finger pointing between Cisco and Microsoft. I understand Cisco needs to create an app, but can they with the current restraints? It should be a no brainer for Microsoft to do what they can to make this happen.
This is pretty much a make or break need for us. I really wanted to give Windows RT a chance but if this isn't cleared up, I have no compelling case to deploy Windows tablets.
Does anyone know if Microsoft will work with Cisco on this? Or do you think this is getting squashed for a reason? I don't see why because MS is allowing other VPN connections.

2013-03-20T14:16:28+00:00 I am really frustrated with this. I have had this device for nearly 6-months and still no word on the progress. I wish Microsoft would make a definitive statement one way or another. If it is not in the cards, I need to find another option. I love the RT, the battery life, size, weight and productivity is exactly what I need for business travel. I already have a laptop, I dont need the Pro as a replacement, I need a companion that will travel with me. Get VPN already so we can access our network when traveling. Some word on this front would be appreciated to all us early adopters and supporters.

2013-03-18T20:07:34+00:00 It seems to me Microsoft could fix this very quickly if they would just reconsider the artificial limitations they have placed (needlessly I'd say) to the desktop in RT. After seeing some of the desktop apps people have recompiled to work on ARM CPUs in Windows with the "jailbreak", if they would just let the VPN providers simply recompile their existing VPN clients it could be a quick and easy way to get VPN support to Windows RT. I'm pretty sure it uses the same network stack as x86 Windows. Some things should not be a full screen touch app (hmm, Office anyone?), and I would argue the VPN would be just fine as a desktop app.
