how do I turn off the autolock in windows 8?

After inactivity of around 1 minute in windows 8 the computer locks itself... I have to reenter my password. I have tried everything, power options, personalization, and it's still not taking it off. All of the features that relate to turning off the auto lock are off too. Help please!!

Found a fix, under User Accounts, clicking reset security policies seems to have fixed the issue. Also, it fixed the issue of not being able to change the screensaver timeout. I haven't been able to track down the specific policy caused the problem in the first place, but this works for now.

    Stephan, a lot of people reported this working for them when their monitor went to sleep (not the computer itself), but it may help:

    "...even though you do not have a screensaver, got to personalize, screensaver, and uncheck the box for on resume, display logon screen, apply, ok."

    For me personally, resetting the security policies is what fixed it, but it sounds like you've already tried that and don't have the option to do so.

    I tried everything on this thread and utube including registry changes and this was the only thing that finally did it.  Thanks

    The method provided by @Beef623 "Control Panel \ User Accounts \ Reset Security Settings"

    This has really helped me. I guess that Autolock in 1 minuteis Windows 8.1's default policy which is not over ridden by the normal method of user customization. When you reset the security policy settings, it gets reset and then takes the value of user's customize settings.

    This is what worked for me.

    1. Right click on your desktop and choose personalize.
    2. Then choose screen saver.(even if your not using a screen saver trust me this works)
    3. Under the screen saver selection drop down there it says wait and then there is a number behind it.
    4. If that number is one choose a screen saver and change the number to say 20 min.
    5. Hit apply then if you weren't using a screen saver choose no screen saver again
    6. Apply and ok and it should resolve the issue.

    That's what worked for me
