how do I turn off the autolock in windows 8?

After inactivity of around 1 minute in windows 8 the computer locks itself... I have to reenter my password. I have tried everything, power options, personalization, and it's still not taking it off. All of the features that relate to turning off the auto lock are off too. Help please!!

Found a fix, under User Accounts, clicking reset security policies seems to have fixed the issue. Also, it fixed the issue of not being able to change the screensaver timeout. I haven't been able to track down the specific policy caused the problem in the first place, but this works for now.

    Perhaps your security policies are already at the default settings and therefor unable to be reset to Default?  In that case there would be no link, or options, for you to click on.

    If it makes you feel any better I have never seen such an option on any of my Windows 8.1 machines.

    using windows and there is NO "Reset security policies" in link you state:

    Control Panel -> User Accounts and Family Safety -> User Accounts -> Reset security policies.

    Only things listed after Control Panel -> User Accounts and Family Safety -> User Accounts is:

    Set up Family Safety with 3 options:

    Use Family Safety

    Turn on Family Safety

    Turn off Family Safety

    Please be more specific.  After clicking on Control Panel -> User Accounts, are you talking about clicking on "Family Safety" on bottom left?  that's only option and then only above 3 options.  NO Reset security policies?????

    Thank you. every other person just says go to user accounts reset security policies. thank you for clearly stating the file path from desktop/start to get to this. it was driving me insane.

    Just Go to PC Settings >> LockScreen... And Turn "OFF" the "Play a slide show on the lockscreen" option... Definitely, It'll work...
