After inactivity of around 1 minute in windows 8 the computer locks itself... I have to reenter my password. I have tried everything, power options, personalization, and it's still not taking it off. All of the features that relate to turning off the auto lock are off too. Help please!!

Found a fix, under User Accounts, clicking reset security policies seems to have fixed the issue. Also, it fixed the issue of not being able to change the screensaver timeout. I haven't been able to track down the specific policy caused the problem in the first place, but this works for now.
Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options
Choose any of the power plans that it shows then click Edit plan settings
Then set the 'Turn off the display' to never
Do the same to 'Put the computer to sleep'
Make sure to save any changes
That will keep your computer from going black when you don't want it to.
I have done this and it hasn't fixed the issue.

From the Desktop - Charms Menu - Settings - Personalization - Screen Saver
or use WinKey + I (from the Desktop)
Or Right Click Desktop - Personalize - Sceen Saver
change time as needed or 0 for off - uncheck On resume, display logon screen - Apply
/ OK.

A recent post to that linked article states, "The option was there for me in Windows 8 Pro. After I clicked it to reset the policies it is no longer there though. I'm not sure what triggers it to show up, I would assume it only shows up if there are policies set that aren't default. "
