how do I turn off the autolock in windows 8?

After inactivity of around 1 minute in windows 8 the computer locks itself... I have to reenter my password. I have tried everything, power options, personalization, and it's still not taking it off. All of the features that relate to turning off the auto lock are off too. Help please!!

Found a fix, under User Accounts, clicking reset security policies seems to have fixed the issue. Also, it fixed the issue of not being able to change the screensaver timeout. I haven't been able to track down the specific policy caused the problem in the first place, but this works for now.

    Hi Vladimir,

    I've updated all of my policy templates to win8/2012 versions.  I see all of the other Win8/2012/RT only settings (like "Trun off picture password sign-in) EXCEPT this one.  ARRRGH.  Any idea what I'm missing?

    It was likely caused by you setting your computer up to synchronize with a corporate MS Exchange server.  Your employer or whoever administers the Exchange server can enforce a policy which requires your computer to automatically lock after 'x' amount of inactivity.  Unfortunately, removing the Exchange account that originally enforced the policy does not undo it.

    It shows you how to enable the power setting in control panel by editing the registry.
