how do I turn off the autolock in windows 8?

After inactivity of around 1 minute in windows 8 the computer locks itself... I have to reenter my password. I have tried everything, power options, personalization, and it's still not taking it off. All of the features that relate to turning off the auto lock are off too. Help please!!

Found a fix, under User Accounts, clicking reset security policies seems to have fixed the issue. Also, it fixed the issue of not being able to change the screensaver timeout. I haven't been able to track down the specific policy caused the problem in the first place, but this works for now.

    If you use the drop down counter arrow the lowest number it will go down to is 1.  If you type 0 then that number will not "stick" once you hit Apply.

    Hi,

    From the Desktop - Charms Menu - Settings - Personalization - Screen Saver

    or use WinKey + I (from the Desktop)

    Or Right Click Desktop - Personalize - Screen Saver

    change time as needed or 0 for off - uncheck On resume, display logon screen - Apply

    / OK.

    I changed the time to 0, but when I click apply it changes to 1, and even the screen saver is off, my pc locks after 1 minute

    Hi,

    Just to help others stuck like me, here is how I got this to work.

    I am running Windows 8.1 Pro and do not have a "Reset Security Policies" link anywhere where it's described above.

    Likewise, I ran the steps in http://www.petenetlive.com/KB/Article/0000684.htm but they did not match what my Windows 8 box had for it's control panel flow.

    Here's what I had to do:

    • Go into "Settings" in the magical right-hand side vertical menu.
      • Select "Change PC Settings" link at the bottom of that screen
    • On "PC Settings" screen, select "Accounts"
    • On "Accounts" screen, select "Sign-in options"
    • Under the "Password Policy" grouping on the right-side, select <Change> to disable having to enter a password to wake up the machine

    I've found a potential solution:

    Go to: Control Panel --> User Accounts --> "Make changes to my account in PC settings"

    There is a option that says "Any user who has a password must enter it when waking this PC."

    Select "Change" below the option.

    After doing this, my computer won't lock unless I choose to lock it.
