Extend my C drive space in Windows 8

Hey guys, I have install Windows 8 Home, I want to extend my C drive space, but the system won't let me. I've try AOMEI to extend it , AOMEI crashed my system in Pre-OS mode. I got it fix eventually. But I really really want to extend my C drive and I don't want to reinstall the system, can anyone help me please?

    Hello wehrmacher, can I ask if it is an NTFS or RAW partition? The disk management utility only works with these file structures.

    Also, you could try changing the volume ( ie the disk, not the partition) to a Dynamic Volume and see if that helps.

    Otherwise, yes, you may be running into a limitation of the utility, and will have to try one of the 3rd party ones. I have only used one before, can't remember which but I think it was something Wizard...

    I have try to follow your steps. My notebook is currently having only 20 gb on c drive and 500 gb on d drive. i have shrink volume the d drive for about 100 gb and it appear as unallocated space. But how do i go about to extend volume to my c drive using the unallocated space? I want to add that 100 gb unallocated space to my c drive.

    I am assuming here that this is one physical drive we are talking about. Is the 100Gb immediately to the right of the c drive? If not you will have to move the partition d over either with an external drive or in a series of steps, so that the unallocated space can be extended into. How easy that us depends on how full your d drive is.

    Tnx Maddoy and Gonzonator 1982. Had the same problem with extension of c. Just unallocated some 300 gb of space and the option to extend the volume was available. Dont go for any software.
