Windows Live Mail (WLM) - error: server rejects login to gmail account

Hi, can anyone help with this problem please.  I hope this is the right forum if not please advise where I should post this query.

If I access my gmail account in a browser I have no problems sending or receiving email, even when hiding my IP address (for example when using unprotected WIFI access points).

However as soon as I try access my gmail account using Windows Live Mail (whether hiding my IP address or not) I regularly get an error "The server has rejected your login. Please verify that your user name and password are correct".

I've investigated this in Live Mail support pages and my gmail setup is as advised as is my WLM setup.

Any ideas appreciated?  THIS PROBLEM HAS SOMEHOW CORRECTED ITSELF - NO MORE REPLIES PLEASE.  THANK YOU.

    1. Version 2012 (Build 16.4.3528.0331)
    2. It it  my gmail account that suddenly started popping up with account name/password box and then rejecting the password. (the only thing that changed at all was I started receiving emails on my [Android] phone the day before it started doing this.
    3. Yes, it accesses fine on the browser

    To assist you better, please provide the details below:

    1. Which version of live Mail are you using?
    2. Which account did you configure under Live Mail?
    3. Did you try accessing your account through browser and check if the issue persists?

    Not working for me either. I've tried everything. It's now been 36 hours of WLM rejecting the username and password. Password works on other google apps. Help!

    This did not help me with me not being able to bring gmail into my Windows Live Mail account.
