OS Win 8 pro 64 bit, no third-party antivirus (Windows Defender only).

System state backup on network share failed with error code  0x807800C5

    I got the same error. Environment: Win 8 Pro 32 Bit, i do upgrade from Win7 Ultimate. Backup on Zyxel NSA320.

    Same for me saving to a NAS drive. I used "Let me choose settings and deselected anything that I had transferred to the Nas. and also no system image. It completed but still tells me it couldn't back up files that are on the Nas, but at least I have a backup.

    Hi,

    I had the same problem, backup failed if system image was included on Windows 8 Pro, worked before. So I downgraded from samba4 to samba-3.6.9-151.el6.i686 (CentOS release 6.4) and it works!

    thx for info on this thread, was easier to figure this out on my case.

    Hi !

    Backup to NAS from Windows 8 icluding ImageBackups worked

    ( at least to Synology DS1813+ ) IF and AFTER :

     - disable SMB2 and large packets in Synology

     - edit smb.conf and ADD “strict allocate = yes” to all Shares !!!

    After that also Windows 2012 can do Image-backups to NAS !!

    Hi !

    Backup to NAS from Windows 8 works ( at least to Synology DS1813+ ) IF and AFTER:

     - disable SMB2 and large packets in Synology

     - edit smb.conf and ADD “strict allocate = yes” to all Shares !!!

    After that also Windows 2012 can backup to NAS !!
