I installed Windows Live Mail on 6 December 2011 and added a Google Mail account to it. It was working fine until about a week ago when every time I went to check my mail it would give me the following message:

I clicked on the Error tab in that window and there was nothing listed there. I closed out of the windows and clicked on the button to check my mail again and no error message. The next time I want to check my mail I get that error message and I close out of that window and check it again and it works with no issue. It has been like this for about a week and it becoming annoying.
What is the issue and how do I fix it or are Google Mail accounts not compatible with this application. I used the IMAP settings.

What files would I lose. I wouldn't lose any files since it is an IMAP account not a POP account.
Also I went into Control Panel in Windows 7 and went to Add/Remove Programs and uninstalled Windows Live Essentials 2011. Then I downloaded and re-installed it. I opened Windows Live Mail to setup my mail account and it was already setup. I thought if I uninstalled Windows Live Essentials 2011 and re-installed it I would have to setup my mail account again.

If you did not perform a clean uninstall (removing registry keys on your pc) the user account would still be there. Are you still encountering the issue after reinstalling Windows Live Mail? Do you encounter the issue when you access your email online using a web browser?

I don't know anything about the registry and leave it alone since I am afraid something might go wrong. I am still having an issue with it. I don't know how to use Google Mail on the website. I have always used Microsoft Outlook and when I found out that it used a lot of resources I removed it and used Apple Mail (Mac OS X/iOS) and Windows Live Mail (Windows 7) since neither one uses many resources.
