I installed Windows Live Mail on 6 December 2011 and added a Google Mail account to it.  It was working fine until about a week ago when every time I went to check my mail it would give me the following message:

Some errors occurred while processing the requested tasks.

1 of 2 tasks have completed successfully

I clicked on the Error tab in that window and there was nothing listed there.  I closed out of the windows and clicked on the button to check my mail again and no error message.  The next time I want to check my mail I get that error message and I close out of that window and check it again and it works with no issue.  It has been like this for about a week and it becoming annoying.

What is the issue and how do I fix it or are Google Mail accounts not compatible with this application.  I used the IMAP settings.

    Sorry if I seem to have abandoned you. I do know a bit about Windows Live Mail, but the intricacies of Internet Explorer and problems with it are beyond my ken. That's why I suggested that you should post in an IE forum. If you're as persistent there as you have been here, you're sure to get a satisfactory result sooner or later.

    I would also point out that IE is much more than a browser; it's an integral part of the operating system and provides functionality for many bits of Windows as well as for other programs like Office and WLMail - and, for all I know, for other browsers as well. It's important to have it working properly.

    I've already said my piece about aggressive security software like McAfee and Norton. I wouldn't allow any of their products anywhere near my machine.

    I will take it that a repair install will not work.

    Noel,

    I have tried that with IE 8 and it is still crippled.  I have used Norton products since Norton Anti-Virus back in 2002 and made the move to Norton 360 in 2007.  I have used McAfee Anti-Virus (back in 2002) and had issues with updates being installed.  I had to uninstall McAfee and the re-install it in order to install the updates.  I know that is not normal and that is why I made the move to Symantecs. I have used the free anti-virus software from Microsoft to do trial/error  with Norton on another system when formatting the hard drive to remove Vista and then insert a Windows 7 full version disc and install it.  I remember that Norton might be conflicting with it and removed Norton and downloaded and installed the free software from Microsoft to see if Norton was the cause and it was still having the same issues.  Then I had issues uninstalling the Microsoft anti-virus software and had to use instructions to uninstall it using the Command Prompt.  I found out that there was a glitch with the Windows install and formatted the drive and did a system re-install and it was fine after that.  That is why I have stayed with Norton.  The only real issue I have with Norton right now is that it sometimes blocks the connection with Microsoft Xbox 360 when I want to use Media Center.

    Would a repair install of Windows help.
