Nokia Lumia 610 - can't connect to wifi

I just figured it out.  Lumia connect to the internet only through a WEP protocol while most routers do not use this protocol as a default.  To change the router default, use the desktop connected to your home router and enter in the web browser http://http://192.168.1.1 (this is the default address for your router). 

Once the router setting page is up, use the username and password printed on your router to access the router settings.  If those are not available, call your service provider to obtain them.  

Select the "Wireless setting" tab and scroll down to select or turn on WEP.  Scroll further down to find the 64-BIT WEP KEY.  Use this key as your password when connecting to wif-fi on your device.  Click on "apply" or "save" prior to existing to save changes.

Please note that once you set the router to WEP, you will need to update the password on all other devices using your home router using the WEB password.   Good luck

Smartguy64, I do not have to downgrade the Wi-Fi security to WEP here with my Lumia devices. Even not those with Windows Phone 7. Or stated differently: I have no issue with WPA2 and able to use that. Therefore, your observed behaviour and solution is unusual; to track down that software bug: Which Wi-Fi access point are you using (brand, model, and if possible the firmware version)?

I had the same issue with similar symptoms:

    * Can Connect to my home Wi-Fi from PC and other equipment

    * BUT Cannot connect to the same form my NL720

    * Still cannot connect to the other Wi-Fi networks I've been connecting to (e.g. Office Wi-Fi)

* Simply I cannot reset the office Router (Though I could do it at home)

* What I did was gave a cold re-boot to my NL720 - Simply, removed the battery and reconnected.

My lumia 640 could not connect to my home network but I rebooted my router and it detected it just fine
