Hi all,

great news! We just started to roll out our next update for Symbian called Nokia Belle Refresh for Nokia N8, Nokia E7, Nokia C7, Nokia C6-01, Nokia X7 and Nokia Oro with version number 111.040.1511 (Nokia E6, version number 111.140.0058, will follow still this week, Nokia 500 updates will follow shortly).

This update again brings new features to Symbian smartphones, for example:

-          a new browser with HTML5 web apps support, a new set of homescreen widgets, and the previously released Microsoft Office Mobile App and Nokia Maps Suite 2.0 in one package.

-          Nokia N8 will have some extra apps for imaging

The update will be rolled out in phases, starting with the vanilla versions (ie. basic software variants without any specific operator or country configuration). Country and operator variants will follow within the next weeks, depending on local and operator approvals.

pS: Just like after updating from Nokia Anna to Nokia Belle, some apps may not work due to compatibility issues. If you need more information on available apps, please contact your local Nokia Care support. Furthermore, you can also contact the respective App developer to enquire about the compatibility.

Best regards,

Yvonne from Nokia Care

I upgraded my C7 via OTA and everything went fine and fast.

Great upgrade! Everything is faster and smoother. Seems all my old Apps work too. Tested with Skype, Maps, Opera....

The new widgets are a great improvement too. With this upgrade, my old C7 can make it another year or so.

    Thanks, Nokia!

    Hi there,

Today (29-Aug-2012) when I connected my E7 to my laptop and opened the Nokia Suite I was prompted for upgrading my phone software to this latest update.

The update instructions clearly say that many of the mobile apps will be lost during the update. It recommends that all the apps which were installed earlier can be downloaded again from the store.

But the following points are not answered. Please answer them for me.

    1. What happens to any apps which I purchased from the Store? Do I have to pay for them again? If so that doesn't sound fair.
    2. What happens to the full editions of apps and games which were downloaded as Nokia Store Gifts from time to time. E.g.. Angry Birds (Full edition) which I downloaded for free as a Gift after an upgrade. Do I have to pay for it now?

Please answer these questions for me ASAP so that I can decide whether to go ahead with this upgrade or not!

    Thanks & regards,

    Atul

    @Raoul_Duke

There should be an option to re-install it on Nokia Suite, but I couldn't find it. I suppose that the update for my product code is available only OTA and not yet on Nokia Suite. So at the moment there's no possibility to re-install ...

Just testet the browser, music player and flash videos a couple of hours ago. Everything is fine. No lagging, no bugs, no problems. Ovi Store works fine too.

@staicueduard you dont need Check in App when you can use your Social App.

@bcobbsft your problems could be becuase of the "Unlock" you made to your phone, because those hacks do put your phone at risk sometimes.

@Raoul_Duke yes there is. Connect your phone to your pc/laptop open Nokia Suite go to Software Updates and there will be indication to reinstall the update where your Phone Software Updates are shown.

Seems like the phones that get most problems with this update are the N8, C7 and C6-01. I suspect the "unlocking" being the cause but i could be wrong. As for the people who still dont have the update available just be patient. Yvonne has clearly pointed out that the update will be rolled out in phases. Meaning they cant release it for everyone at the same time!

Concerning the Colorize IT App i suspect it will be released later on after most of the countries have recieved the update.
