Hi all,
great news! We just started to roll out our next update for Symbian called Nokia Belle Refresh for Nokia N8, Nokia E7, Nokia C7, Nokia C6-01, Nokia X7 and Nokia Oro with version number 111.040.1511 (Nokia E6, version number 111.140.0058, will follow still this week, Nokia 500 updates will follow shortly).
This update again brings new features to Symbian smartphones, for example:
- a new browser with HTML5 web apps support, a new set of homescreen widgets, and the previously released Microsoft Office Mobile App and Nokia Maps Suite 2.0 in one package.
- Nokia N8 will have some extra apps for imaging
The update will be rolled out in phases, starting with the vanilla versions (ie. basic software variants without any specific operator or country configuration). Country and operator variants will follow within the next weeks, depending on local and operator approvals.
pS: Just like after updating from Nokia Anna to Nokia Belle, some apps may not work due to compatibility issues. If you need more information on available apps, please contact your local Nokia Care support. Furthermore, you can also contact the respective App developer to enquire about the compatibility.

@jake20. Agreed. During the Belle rollout, it took a month before I received the update on my NAM N8 059C8T6 (purchased ulocked on the Nokia website)... and that was when Nokia was doing all the carrier and branded phones first. Since the unlocked phones were supposed to be FIRST with this refresh, I hate to think when everyone is going to see it.
After they rolled out Belle so fast I thought Nokia finally had the process perfected.
I guess not... its been weeks already and still nothing for my USA green N8..

Hi. Pictures received via MMS are very small since the update. Nothing wrong with settings as MMS can be sent and received. The picture comes in a .PNG format instead of .JPG.
Could we please have a fix for this?

I share with you the irritation about the oversimplified statements on local websites of Nokia. I can remember, that in time of the roll out of Belle some local Nokia websites offered the possibility to check whether your product code was ready for update or not. FYI I guess, that on this moment for the N8 only 33% of the product codes have been rolled out and this level has not been changed in a week. As for Malaysia only the vanilla versions of the apac1 region has been rolled out. Only the country variants of Denmark, the country variants and some branded variants of Finland and one branded variant of Austria have been rolled out. So you not the only one, who is waiting. Hang in there.

Sorry for my late response. Your black E6 is a so called branded phone. The fact, that you have removed the simlock, does not imply, that your phone has been changed in an unbranded phone. You always will be stuck with the product code of your E6. The only possibility I see, is taking your phone to a Nokia Care Point in France and let them do the updates for you or that Nokia alter your product code. Success.
