Hi all,
great news! We just started to roll out our next update for Symbian called Nokia Belle Refresh for Nokia N8, Nokia E7, Nokia C7, Nokia C6-01, Nokia X7 and Nokia Oro with version number 111.040.1511 (Nokia E6, version number 111.140.0058, will follow still this week, Nokia 500 updates will follow shortly).
This update again brings new features to Symbian smartphones, for example:
- a new browser with HTML5 web apps support, a new set of homescreen widgets, and the previously released Microsoft Office Mobile App and Nokia Maps Suite 2.0 in one package.
- Nokia N8 will have some extra apps for imaging
The update will be rolled out in phases, starting with the vanilla versions (ie. basic software variants without any specific operator or country configuration). Country and operator variants will follow within the next weeks, depending on local and operator approvals.
pS: Just like after updating from Nokia Anna to Nokia Belle, some apps may not work due to compatibility issues. If you need more information on available apps, please contact your local Nokia Care support. Furthermore, you can also contact the respective App developer to enquire about the compatibility.
Best regards,
Yvonne from Nokia Care

ok. Thanks.
@Oje1 I think its pretty normal for your battery to get drained after you turn the phone on cuz the whole process of the phone start up costs battery life as far as i know. And concerning your CNN and Fring apps, unless they are on your home screen/'s i dont think they should make an impact on your battery. Another thing that can drain your battery is the 3G network or GPRS if they are turned on that constantly updates your widgets and of course uses up the battery.
😕
Well, I still have the same issues with my battery that I had before I did the upgrade.
I charged my phone to 100% last night, turned it off, and went to bed. When I got up this morning, I turned the phone on and had a cup of coffee and checked the battery monitor. It said my battery was at 90%. I didn't do anything. It had been only 15-20 minutes since I turned on the phone. There were no "open" applications. Something is draining the battery... Wi-fi and bluetooth are off.
I sent one brief text message this morning and now the battery monitor says I have 64% charge (Charged 12 hrs 57 min ago) - but be aware that the phone was off for about six hours.
When I do "Power save", things seem to be normal for me, but this is not what I'm used to.
I don't use my phone that much. I make a few short calls and send one or two text messages. I usually don't have to charge the phone for three days - now it's suddenly twice a day (unless I use the "power save" feature).
I have had the phone for eight months and never had this problem.
My question (and hopefully someone knows the answer) is that even though my phone says that there are no "open" applications, are there some that run anyway in the background? I didn't notice the battery problem until after I installed two applications from the Ovi store - CNN and Fring
