Skype and Viber have nothing to do with Nokia. Its up to each of them to develop and update their software and to make it available for the nokia smartphones.

Hi all,
great news! We just started to roll out our next update for Symbian called Nokia Belle Refresh for Nokia N8, Nokia E7, Nokia C7, Nokia C6-01, Nokia X7 and Nokia Oro with version number 111.040.1511 (Nokia E6, version number 111.140.0058, will follow still this week, Nokia 500 updates will follow shortly).
This update again brings new features to Symbian smartphones, for example:
- a new browser with HTML5 web apps support, a new set of homescreen widgets, and the previously released Microsoft Office Mobile App and Nokia Maps Suite 2.0 in one package.
- Nokia N8 will have some extra apps for imaging
The update will be rolled out in phases, starting with the vanilla versions (ie. basic software variants without any specific operator or country configuration). Country and operator variants will follow within the next weeks, depending on local and operator approvals.
pS: Just like after updating from Nokia Anna to Nokia Belle, some apps may not work due to compatibility issues. If you need more information on available apps, please contact your local Nokia Care support. Furthermore, you can also contact the respective App developer to enquire about the compatibility.
Best regards,
Yvonne from Nokia Care

2012-08-28T22:09:33+00:00 Just updated my Nokia X7 RM-707 via Nokia Suite. Update size was a little over 400MB and it took lesser time than i expected. After the completion of the update Microsoft Apps Mobile were still installed and the more interesting widgets that i got were the mechanical clock, the weather widget and the photo wall widget. I didnt lose anything and my phone memory decreased from ~129MB to ~121MB which doesnt really affect me that much. My initial impressions of the update were positive as the operating speed increased, the sliding through the home screenes and menu and got smoother and faster. I havent tested the browser and playing .flv videos cuz of the lack of wi-fi right now but ill give my feedback as soon as i can. The problem with not being able to add new home screens and new widgets doesnt exsist with me so i guess it must be a bug in N8 or any other phone that has it. But im pretty sure it will get resolved by the end of the week. All in all the update was useful and it definitely gave me a boost in performance. Hope to see more upgrades to the OS in the future. :)
