Nokia Belle Refresh update just launched

Hi all,

great news! We just started to roll out our next update for Symbian called Nokia Belle Refresh for Nokia N8, Nokia E7, Nokia C7, Nokia C6-01, Nokia X7 and Nokia Oro with version number 111.040.1511 (Nokia E6, version number 111.140.0058, will follow still this week, Nokia 500 updates will follow shortly).

This update again brings new features to Symbian smartphones, for example:

- a new browser with HTML5 web apps support, a new set of homescreen widgets, and the previously released Microsoft Office Mobile App and Nokia Maps Suite 2.0 in one package.

- Nokia N8 will have some extra apps for imaging

The update will be rolled out in phases, starting with the vanilla versions (ie. basic software variants without any specific operator or country configuration). Country and operator variants will follow within the next weeks, depending on local and operator approvals.

pS: Just like after updating from Nokia Anna to Nokia Belle, some apps may not work due to compatibility issues. If you need more information on available apps, please contact your local Nokia Care support. Furthermore, you can also contact the respective App developer to enquire about the compatibility.

@AaronUmhoefer I am in the UK and have a UK spec Nokia C7-00 and this was updated a few weeks ago. Is your phone locked to a specific service provider? If so then the delay is firmly with them and not Nokia. Once the firmware is fully released, the operators are asked if they would like to take advantage of it and if they do then a custom build then needs to be created with all the operator customisations and then separately tested before being finally rolled out. Obviously the issues that Nokia experienced when it rolled out the base versions will have slowed this process down too. Hopefully you will not have to wait too much longer.

So why is the UK being left out here? Does anyone know when they are going to start the rollout for UK variants?

I can't believe this is still going on coming up to the end of October. Nokia seriously need to redesign their update strategy, I honestly don't understand why everyone has to get the same update over such a varying timespan, I get that there is localisation and network providers need to approve, but the update can't be that different across networks and internationally.

There should be a realistic release date, and the product should be released then, every other platform seems to get it!

my question is for those have updated already.. should i update when its out for me I've heard it improves bug problems and makes it smoother but as the app selection isn't that big the start with most apps on my phone i use and i would have to lose such as, meebible, shazam, fmobi, opera and many other and another reason i ask is cuz I've also read it brings more bugs
