Original Title: Microsoft Solitaire Collection - Buggy, Crashes, and Resets Stats and Challenges

I'm having a terrible time with the Solitaire Collection for Windows 8. It frequently crashes, and now, for the second time THIS MONTH, it has reset my "Daily Challenges" to zero and wiped out all my achievements and coins. Oddly, when I go back to try to do them over, it says I've already done the challenge once, so I can't even re-earn the coins I lost!

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but it hasn't helped... nothing changed.

Often, if I click on a game or challenge, the app will just shut down and take me to my Windows Start screen.

I'm very disappointed with this buggy card game collection. I wish I could just have my Windows 7 card games back. :(

Here it is months after Win8 release and I purchase a new laptop with a fresh install of Win8 --- and I have the same problem. Solitaire just randomly crashes and returns to the home screen.

I used to like to play a quick game when I had a second, but no more since this stupid thing takes 3 minutes to open. I'm not impressed with Win8 so far (and I won't even mention the ugly one-dimensional windows)

This version of Solitaire is soooo slow - its unplayable. Why can't we get the old Windows  Solitaire supplied again?

I attempted all of the suggested fixes and I have problems with all of the games that were preloaded on Windows 8 (solitaire, minesweeper, mah jong).  None of the fixes worked.  SFC "did not find any integrity problems.  The games launch, but shortly thereafter it crashes and sends me back to the Start screen.

Microsoft should provide corrective relief -- as soon as it considers it a priority -- as part of an automatic update. Why is it my responsibility to monitor some geek forum when this is Microsoft's problem?

Xbox is Microsoft brand and those forums that I linked to I my last post are operated by Microsoft.

I experienced the exact same problem regarding signing into Xbox Live. And like you, I am not impressed and disappointed with Windows 8. I was on the phone last week for a good 90 minutes with a very helpful support technician with Xbox Live. After running a series of diagnostics and tests, this tech concluded that the problem COULD be related to my Internet provider. My girlfriend has her own gamertag on my Xbox account, and the issue of me not being able to sign into Microsoft Solitaire Collection went away as soon as she removed the app from her computer. I don't know what to tell you, except maybe try the steps/methods provided above. Those DO seem to work/ But I say this while knocking on wood. Microsoft should provide corrective relief -- as soon as it considers it a priority -- as part of an automatic update. Why is it my responsibility to monitor some geek forum when this is Microsoft's problem?
