Everytime i connect my phone to my computer the Zune software starts up.
However, it comes up with an error message saying 'Can't connect your phone, disconnect it, restart it and retry it'
I have restarted my phone and retried it 5 times, i've restarted my laptop 5 times and it still won't connect!

LOL, from XDA site, if you change your phone date to tomorrow it will work, must be a problem with the leap year.
You are now chatting with 'Aled D.'.
Aled D.: Hello Koen van b, My name is Aled D. with Microsoft Customer Support and I will be assisting you today. For your records, your service request number is: xxx
Please give me a few moments as I review the information you've submitted.
Aled D.: Your Windows Phone 7 won't connect with your Zune software?
Koen van b: thats correct.
Koen van b: I've tried 4 computers in total, 2 of the 4 in total were fresh installed machines
Koen van b: my phone is also brand new (Nokia Lumia 800)
Koen van b: and has never ever been connected.
Koen van b: I also tried all the KB articles available (cleaning certificates, checking driver version, if the device is working correctly in device manager)
Koen van b: and I tried on win7 x64 as well as win7 x64 sp1 as well as xp sp3 x86
Koen van b: computer has been restarted multiple times, reinstalled zune, device has been restarted and factory reset
Koen van b: As you can see I'm also not alone in this.
Aled D.: Can I get the error message that you are getting from the software please?
Koen van b: the white splash screen is telling me CONNECTION ERROR, can't connect to your phone. Disconnect it, restart it, then try connecting again.
Koen van b: just seconds after starting zune
Aled D.: We have been getting a lot of this today. This issue appears to be down to the fact that today is a leap day.
Koen van b: ROFL
Aled D.: Try changing the date on your computer, restart the Zune software, and see if the same error occurs.
Koen van b: yep, that worked. thanks!
Thank you so much...After all afternoon, including over an hour with the computer Geeks, this simple step has worked!!!!!
Why didn't Nokia tink of possible problems with new phones at this time???
or even THINK of possible problems!!!
