Java is not working on my computer. It is new computer with windows 8 and internet explorer 10. I downloaded Java and using explorer from desktop.
But every time I go on line and website requires Java I get same error message "ClassNotFoundExeption". Same error I get if I go to Java website and hit Test Java button. I tried different things that were suggested on Java.com and Microsoft.com but nothing worked. I have newest Java and did not have any problems downloading it. I appreciate any suggestions.

Was the original issue ever resolved? I still can't get Java to work and I've tried all of the above except setting up a new user account which didn't make sense. Using Windows 8 - 64 bit, Java 32 bit and I've installed and uninstalled multiple times on the desktop. The site I'm accessing works fine on my Windows 7 laptop and I have all the same settings in Java on both laptops.
When browsing in the Win8 App IE you can click on the Tool icon in the bottom right corner and select View on Desktop.

I was having issues with java. It was enabled & updated in all aspects and still wouldn't detect java. I tried the above (disabling, going to java supported app, enabling again.) As easy as this sounds it did work! Thanks so much for the advise!
Hi glad it all works fine now. Have to say with latest Win 8.1 IE11 and latest Java all is OK with me now. WE will never get anyone to say whether this is/was a Java or a MS issue (someone obviously knows) But my worry is while this is the case it could come back and we will never know how to address it....
Steve... I also have the same problem and I also have done all the things you have been told to do several different times from several different places and people. It would be nice if these people actually read the problem and previously tried remedies before telling you to do something you have already done 100 times.
I finally installed Firefox and everything runs fine. For Internet Explorer to not support plug-ins is absolutely insane.
If there is anyone out there that has a REAL fix and not something that has been suggested 1,000 times and tried 100 times I am sure Steve and I would both greatly appreciate it, but if you are only going to tell us to do what we have already done repeatedly then PLEASE don't waste our time!

If you have 64-bit Windows try folloving: in Internet Options select Advanced tab, scroll down to Security section and check "Enable 64-bit processes for Enhances protected Mode" box.
You need also to install 64-bit Java first.
