Java is not working on my computer. It is new computer with windows 8 and internet explorer 10. I downloaded Java and using explorer from desktop.
But every time I go on line and website requires Java I get same error message "ClassNotFoundExeption". Same error I get if I go to Java website and hit Test Java button. I tried different things that were suggested on Java.com and Microsoft.com but nothing worked. I have newest Java and did not have any problems downloading it. I appreciate any suggestions.

Was the original issue ever resolved? I still can't get Java to work and I've tried all of the above except setting up a new user account which didn't make sense. Using Windows 8 - 64 bit, Java 32 bit and I've installed and uninstalled multiple times on the desktop. The site I'm accessing works fine on my Windows 7 laptop and I have all the same settings in Java on both laptops.
When browsing in the Win8 App IE you can click on the Tool icon in the bottom right corner and select View on Desktop.

Why does people keep saying to create a new user account?
Is Windows 8 that much bad programming?
I use my Microsoft account and I Can not create a new account as I have all my developer certificates tied to the account and my MSDN subscription.
The point is that Nothing is wrong with Java, the problem is IE and Microsoft should man up and admit that, and then find a fix as soon as posible.
Java Works fine in IE if you right click on the IE icon on the desktop and choose run as Administrator.
I completely uninstalled all Java from the computer, restartet and then installed the Latest version from Java.com and it worked. Next day, I had the same problem Again, Java wont run. Unless IE is running as Administrator.
Much against my will, I have now had to install Firefox, because that just Works with out any trouble.

The problem is not IE, the problem is with Java. The software developer is responsible to make sure their software downloads and runs properly on Windows 8 or any other Microsoft OS. maybe, but Java has been working fine for a long time, I only got this problem resently.
All I can conclude is that Java Works fine on every other browser then IE, and it Works fine with IE as long as you run it as administrator. Since the problem is resent, I would start by rolling back Microsoft updates to see if I could get back to a point where it is working Again, after that I do the offeset with latest Microsoft updates and start roling back Java.
The frustrating thing here is that we aer so dependent on Java as all public affairs in Denmark handled Digitally requieres the Citizens to authenticate using Java.
All Danish Citizens are issued a personal certificate that is accessed using 3 factor authentication and are therefor legally binding, all public affairs are getting digital and this mean we have a ole Public sector relying on Microsoft Technologies, that have a potential problem.
the crazy thing is that not every one is affected by the problem and it seams to hit randomly.
So the solution is that we have started to deploy firefox, witch is a catastrofy seen from a security perspective as we have no control over it and can't manage it with Group policies as we can with IE.
Unfortunatly I don't see much incentives for Oracle to spend a lot of resources on finding a quick fix as IE is the only problem, on the other hand If Microsoft dont want enterprises to start looking around for compettiter solutions the have a lot of insentive to get in contact with Oracle and find a solution fast.
