why java is not working in internet explorer 10 windows 8?

Java is not working on my computer. It is new computer with windows 8 and internet explorer 10. I downloaded Java and using explorer from desktop.

But every time I go on line and website requires Java I get same error message "ClassNotFoundExeption". Same error I get if I go to Java website and hit Test Java button. I tried different things that were suggested on Java.com and Microsoft.com but nothing worked. I have newest Java and did not have any problems downloading it. I appreciate any suggestions.

Was the original issue ever resolved?  I still can't get Java to work and I've tried all of the above except setting up a new user account which didn't make sense.  Using Windows 8 - 64 bit, Java 32 bit and I've installed and uninstalled multiple times on the desktop.  The site I'm accessing works fine on my Windows 7 laptop and I have all the same settings in Java on both laptops.

When browsing in the Win8 App IE you can click on the Tool icon in the bottom right corner and select View on Desktop.

    Please follow the methods given below as troubleshooting steps:

    Method 1:

    I would suggest you to install latest updates of java.

    Method 2: Re Install Java

     Please follow the steps to install Java.

    a.   Go to the Java.com website from Internet Explorer.

    b.   Click the Free Java Download button, and then click Agree and Start Free Download. This should take you to the Java installation screen.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    c.    If a yellow Information bar appears (warning you that the website requires an ActiveX control or add-on from Sun Microsystems), click the yellow bar and then click Install ActiveX Control or Install Add-on. When a Security Warning dialog box appears, click Install.

    d.    Click Install. (Note that you can also change where Java is installed from the default location of C:\Program Files\Java by selecting the Change destination folder check box and by following the instructions.)

    e.    When you see the successful completion dialog box, click Close. Java does not require any additional settings or restarts.

    Hi,

    Thank you for the reply.

    I would like you to try these methods and check.

    Reset Internet Explorer.

    a.      Press Windows key+W and type Internet Options.

    b.      Click on  Internet Options.

    c.       Click on Advanced tab and click Reset.

    d.      In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings window tap or click Reset.

    e.      To delete all personal settings, tap or click the checkbox for Delete personal settings.

    f.        Close and then restart Internet Explorer for the changes to take effect.

    Note: Select the Delete personal settings check box if you would also like to remove browsing history, search providers, Accelerators, home pages, Tracking Protection, and ActiveX Filtering data.

    Note: The Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature might reset security settings or privacy settings that you added to the list of Trusted Sites. The Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature might also reset parental control settings. We recommend that you note these sites before you use the Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature.

    Method 2:

    If the issue persists then create a new user account and check. Here is the link for your reference.
