Java is not working on my computer. It is new computer with windows 8 and internet explorer 10. I downloaded Java and using explorer from desktop.
But every time I go on line and website requires Java I get same error message "ClassNotFoundExeption". Same error I get if I go to Java website and hit Test Java button. I tried different things that were suggested on Java.com and Microsoft.com but nothing worked. I have newest Java and did not have any problems downloading it. I appreciate any suggestions.

Was the original issue ever resolved? I still can't get Java to work and I've tried all of the above except setting up a new user account which didn't make sense. Using Windows 8 - 64 bit, Java 32 bit and I've installed and uninstalled multiple times on the desktop. The site I'm accessing works fine on my Windows 7 laptop and I have all the same settings in Java on both laptops.
When browsing in the Win8 App IE you can click on the Tool icon in the bottom right corner and select View on Desktop.

I don't know if this applies but Java 7.10 was recently discovered to have been hacked and they have as of today posted a fix obviously go to Java.com to download version 7.11. I recomend uninstalling Java first then reinstalling with the latest update especially if you are using Internet Explorer because turning off program did not work has to be uninstalled. Again I don't know if that is your problem or not but you can go to majorgeeks.com and scroll back to 1/11/2013 and it tells about what is wrong with Java and how to fix issues if you have any for most browsers.
I am still having this problem and have had it since the computer was brand-new and there were no settings on IE 10 and Windows 8. I don't have this problem on my other computer with IE 9 and Windows 7. But I do have a problem with IE9 and printing from a web page. It keeps telling me there are script errors. I have tried many fixes but none work. I discovered the easiest fix was to install Mozilla Firefox. I don't have either of these problems when using this browser.
It amazes me that Microsoft makes both Windows and Internet Explorer but they have these problems.
I then install an outside browser and it works fine with Windows 8. Why is that?
everything you suggested does not work, I have tried oh probably 50 times in the last month. never does it work.
