Windows 8 Touch Screen not working on my Gateway ZX6971

I have a Gateway ZX6971 all in one touch screen. I recently downloaded the windows 8 release preview  and i cant find anyway to get my touch screen capabilities working again. Is there a way to fix this problem? I tried reintalling the Card Reader Driver and try to open some touch programs in capability mode. Is there anything I can do to do my touch screen back? It worked fine in Windows 7. Any help or advice would be great! Thank you!

Hi ssackfield88,

This issue may be a display driver issue. I checked Gateway's website for available drivers for the ZX6971 and there are no Windows 8 drivers. Use the contact us link here to see when or if drivers will be available to support Windows 8 on your computer.

    Today 11/5/12 I called gateway and there is currently no driver also they said that there isn't any specific date for a release so I think I'll take a long time until it gets fixed

    Hi,

    I am having the same issue on my Dell Inspiron One 19 all in model. When i ran the check, it never gave any warning except that touch may not be as efficient as specially desinged hardware for windows 8.

    Now i am not able to use touch screen. Contacted dell who first referred me to try same driver again and just now tech staff told me on tel that no driver yet for windows 8.

    Can anyone help? any alternate driver?
