Windows 8 Touch Screen not working on my Gateway ZX6971

I have a Gateway ZX6971 all in one touch screen. I recently downloaded the windows 8 release preview  and i cant find anyway to get my touch screen capabilities working again. Is there a way to fix this problem? I tried reintalling the Card Reader Driver and try to open some touch programs in capability mode. Is there anything I can do to do my touch screen back? It worked fine in Windows 7. Any help or advice would be great! Thank you!

Hi ssackfield88,

This issue may be a display driver issue. I checked Gateway's website for available drivers for the ZX6971 and there are no Windows 8 drivers. Use the contact us link here to see when or if drivers will be available to support Windows 8 on your computer.

    The drivers for the touch screen and remote control for ZX6971 are available now on the gateway support page.

    Hi:

    I will have the same problem until I discover something. Maybe this help a lot of people like me before I find the solution .

    1.- If you create a Backup Drivers & App the first time you run you gateway, you have the solution in you hand

    2.- Insert the disk and "do not run" only open the files an you will find the file there.

    3- The other options is go to this link http://support.gateway.com/product/?cmpid=topnav and select Desktop-ZXSeries-ZX6971 and Confirm.

    4- You go directly to the download page and download only "Touch Driver 3.3.0.34" the last in the list.

    5- Save in you desktop and run.

    6- Restart your All in One Gateway

    You'll get absolutelyno informations and help from the Gateway customer service...it's a mess

    They just have "paste and copy" answers and most of the people on the hotline have no glue

    about the issues.

    After research I found a working way:

    Download the IdeaCom HID Touch Screen Driver ver. 3.3.0.34 from the Acer Website and install it.

    I had the same problem with mine. You can use drivers for the ZX6970 and your touch screen will work.  You can find it here: http://support.gateway.com/us/en/product/default.aspx?tab=1&modelId=3976
