Windows 8 Touch Screen not working on my Gateway ZX6971

I have a Gateway ZX6971 all in one touch screen. I recently downloaded the windows 8 release preview  and i cant find anyway to get my touch screen capabilities working again. Is there a way to fix this problem? I tried reintalling the Card Reader Driver and try to open some touch programs in capability mode. Is there anything I can do to do my touch screen back? It worked fine in Windows 7. Any help or advice would be great! Thank you!

Hi ssackfield88,

This issue may be a display driver issue. I checked Gateway's website for available drivers for the ZX6971 and there are no Windows 8 drivers. Use the contact us link here to see when or if drivers will be available to support Windows 8 on your computer.

    same here, I got the zx6971 and just did the upgrade to windows 8 pro, there is updates right now for the card reader and all is working except for the touchscreens.

    It seems the windows 7 touchscreen driver was provided by Synaptics and there is no update yet for Win8 which is weird :(

    I have the gateway all in one zx6971  and my touch screen is not working at all

    im in the same boat i also have th zx6971 with the same problem after installing windows 8pro

    i contacted gateway notouch screen drivers as of 10/26

    Well I just updated my zx6971 to Win8 pro and have now joined the no touch screen party.  Yay.

    I am hopeful that Gateway will provide a driver as the new OS was designed with touchscreen in mind.
