Okay, I have installed the driver and it is finally working -- to some extent.
The top left corner of my screen registers input sporadically. Everything moves to the corner there and I have isolated the problem as a calibration issue; on the older Windows 7 driver, I had the same problem *if* I calibrated at all using the provided tool.
The problem is that I can't go and correct the issue using Windows' calibration tool because it won't register the points with the much specificity in that corner to begin with.
Any ideas?

Do not calibrate the older driver at all before uninstalling it and installing the updated version. Somehow the calibration data must have carried over each time.
