My Mom's Windows XP Computer is overall slow, freezing & locking up mostly all the time. I don't have the money right now to pay for Premium Support through Microsoft to get it fixed. Can anybody please help me get this issue resolved immediately! It's been like this for a while. I just want my mom's computer to run normally like any other computer would. Please! Let me know. I appreciate it. Thanks.

The top seven processes are as follows: System Idle Process: 98 CPU. firefox.exe: 39 CPU. wuauclt.exe: 05 CPU. svchost.exe: 00 CPU. alg.exe: 00 CPU. Updates from HP: 00 CPU. hpqtra08.exe: 00 CPU. The top seven processes are as follows: System Idle Process: 16 K. firefox.exe: 34,832 K. svchost.exe: 80 K. alg.exe: 80 K. wuauclt.exe: 8,720 K. Updates from HP: 1,268 K. hpqtra08.exe: 1,024 K. And like I said, these all numbers and processes keep changing. I just got these before they just changed. I think it's the first ten minutes or so. My mom's computer.

How do I know which computer my mom has? For the Crucial website?

You should be able to tell just by looking at it.

Also, when you run the Crucial tool from their page, it should tell you what the system is AND what kind of memory it needs.

Apparently, you already gave us the information on p. 2 of this thread:

    HP Pavilion a720n Desktop PC

Here is a page that has the type of RAM your mom's computer needs (click on "Show all compatible computer memory"):

    http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model=Pavilion%20a720n&Cat=RAM

At the very least, you should buy this stick:

    http://www.crucial.com/store/mpartspecs.aspx?mtbpoid=65B39C24A5CA7304

Then again, for only ten bucks more, you can get this one:

So, what do I need though? Which one between those two or three?
