Windows XP Computer Overall Slow, Freezing & Locking Up.

My Mom's Windows XP Computer is overall slow, freezing & locking up mostly all the time. I don't have the money right now to pay for Premium Support through Microsoft to get it fixed. Can anybody please help me get this issue resolved immediately! It's been like this for a while. I just want my mom's computer to run normally like any other computer would. Please! Let me know. I appreciate it. Thanks.

    My mom's PC. Is there anyway I can fix it to be a normal feed to watch?

    No. That. When I watch a video game stream on twitch.tv like Madden NFL 13 or NHL 13, the video is inconsistent. It doesn't go normal in the feed. The feed jumps. The video is not consistent. Do you know what I mean?

    Is this on your PC or your mother's PC?

    I know exactly what you mean. It's called buffering. It can happen because any of the following:

    1. PC's specs are not robust enough (such as CPU not fast enough or not enough RAM))
    2. Internet connection is slower than it should be
    3. Issue with router
    4. Presence of malware

    I still do not know what you mean by "video streaming through." Earlier in this thread, you seemed to think that that had something to do with this page:

    Yes, it does mention that PIO mode leads to "slow data transfer, accompanied by high processor load, leading, for example, to a choppy video display."

    But we have already determined that your hard drive's transfer mode never did slip from DMA to PIO mode. So there is no issue.

    Or are you referring to something else?
