How do I mass delete junk mail in Hotmail on Windows 8?

How can I mass delete emails from my junk and deleted folder?  Takes too long to highlight and delete 7 or 8 at a time.

Hi atomikbomb,

Certainly, there is an option of delete all of these emails in the Junk and deleted folders. There are two ways of going about manually- which means, you have to perform yourself the steps below:

  1. After signing in to your account, go to each of this folder.
  2. On the top of these emails, tick the box before the word ALL.
  3. Click delete menu above Junk or Deleted folder.

Another way to do it manually is doing the following steps:

  1. Hover the mouse cursor over the folder.
  2. Right click and choose empty folder.

    Hi,

    I have a problem with deleting the junk mails in the Junk Mail folder of Window 8 application. Each time I delete them individually or mass delete, the mails re-appear in the folder. These mails have already been deleted in Hotmail web, and also Office Outlook folders. I have also the syn application and it still wouldn't work. Any Ideas???

    You don't need to do the ctrl+a trick anymore, there is a button on the appbar to delete/clear all emails on a given folder. Make sure your mail app is updated.

    The same is also true with a simple forwarding an email why can't they just leave the basic options at the top, without having to go into two or three different steps to do something.  The biggest thing is the DELETING JUNK & DELETED BOX. That has got to change.
