wifi does not have a valid ip configuration windows 8

After upgrading to Windows 8 Final Version

it worked fine for 2 days then, WIFI stoped working.

every time I try to connect it gives me limited connection.

when I try trouble shout it give me the following message :" wifi does not have a valid ip configuration ".

even trying a cable connection, same message appear.

I somehow managed to get on my neighbor WIFI not sure how that happened, but I can only use internet on Desktop mode,

Metro interface have no access to wifi.

I would like to know if you can assist me with this issue?

I was having this problem too. Solved it by following the directions here:

This part in the first reply fixed the problem:

"With upgrades sometimes winsock or the TCP/IP stack gets corrupted. To reset them both type the following two commands into an elevated command prompt one at a timehitting enter after each one then reboot the system.

netsh winsock reset catalog (reset winsock entries)

netsh int ip reset reset.log hit (reset TCP/IP stack)"

    Did not work for me either, sounds like a did you try turning it on and off again fix attempt...

    For the people who tried everything and couldnt find a solution like me ; I wanna share what worked for me after a week of suffering ... I have uninstalled all the intell based drivers and softwares for my wireless and bluetooth and after a restart windows  automatically  installed its own drivers ... And the problem got solved by itself.... I hope this one helps someone else besides me ... ;)

    The "netsh" commands do work for me, but I have to do this every few days.  I would like a PERMANENT fix.  Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

    I second this request for a permanent fix, I'm also having to do this at least once a week!

    It's a PITA. C'mon Microsoft Engineers, how about something more from you guys other than just directing everyone to the useless Network Wizard.
