wifi does not have a valid ip configuration windows 8

After upgrading to Windows 8 Final Version

it worked fine for 2 days then, WIFI stoped working.

every time I try to connect it gives me limited connection.

when I try trouble shout it give me the following message :" wifi does not have a valid ip configuration ".

even trying a cable connection, same message appear.

I somehow managed to get on my neighbor WIFI not sure how that happened, but I can only use internet on Desktop mode,

Metro interface have no access to wifi.

I would like to know if you can assist me with this issue?

I was having this problem too. Solved it by following the directions here:

This part in the first reply fixed the problem:

"With upgrades sometimes winsock or the TCP/IP stack gets corrupted. To reset them both type the following two commands into an elevated command prompt one at a timehitting enter after each one then reboot the system.

netsh winsock reset catalog (reset winsock entries)

netsh int ip reset reset.log hit (reset TCP/IP stack)"

    It is not working.. I have even tried to reset the wired configuration services also via device manager...

    What you really need to do is:

    Go into your Control Panel

    Click Device Manager

    Click arrow to left of Network Adapter

    Right click on your network adapter, and select uninstall

    your network adapter will no longer be listed

    Go to Action on the top left of screen, just right of File

    Click scan for hardware changes and your network adapter will be reinstalled.

    Reboot Router, then reboot PC

    You will have to select your connection and retype in your password.

    Hooray! It took me a couple of hours to figure this out, no other methods listed on this blog worked for me. If for some reason it doesn't work right away, reboot again. I had to.

    I just noticed the order you're saying you did it in, mate.

    That's not the order the instructions say, or what worked for me.

    1. Elevated Cmd Prompt.
    2. type 'netsh winsock reset catalog' (Press enter)
    3. type 'netsh int ip reset reset.log hit' (Press enter)
    4. and then reboot.

    This is what worked for me, and no problems since.

    And I second what another bloke said, referring people to the Network Troubleshooter is useless advice. That has never solved any problem for me, and I've never heard of it being remotely useful for anyone else either, in years of using Windows machines.

    try after the command on top 

    win key + R

    ncpa.cpl

    right click on your wifi 

    properties

    then tick Microsoft LLDP Protocol 

    press ok

    It worked for me

    As well make sure you don t have any spyware : use adwcleaner, jrt, and malwarebytes

    Also in the Internet Protocol Version 4  (tcpip / v4) make sure that the ip adress and DNS are obtain automatically 

    If it doesn t try to enable in the same page Microsoft Network Adapter Multiplexer Protocol
