wifi does not have a valid ip configuration windows 8

After upgrading to Windows 8 Final Version

it worked fine for 2 days then, WIFI stoped working.

every time I try to connect it gives me limited connection.

when I try trouble shout it give me the following message :" wifi does not have a valid ip configuration ".

even trying a cable connection, same message appear.

I somehow managed to get on my neighbor WIFI not sure how that happened, but I can only use internet on Desktop mode,

Metro interface have no access to wifi.

I would like to know if you can assist me with this issue?

I was having this problem too. Solved it by following the directions here:

This part in the first reply fixed the problem:

"With upgrades sometimes winsock or the TCP/IP stack gets corrupted. To reset them both type the following two commands into an elevated command prompt one at a timehitting enter after each one then reboot the system.

netsh winsock reset catalog (reset winsock entries)

netsh int ip reset reset.log hit (reset TCP/IP stack)"

    PEOPLE... simply uninstall your anti-virus, then re-install it. Your internet connection will be fixed. Windows * engineers need to step up and make this OS a lot more user friendly because they have failed hard so far

    This is what worked for my tablet.  havent had an issue since.

    My 4th reset also says failed (access is denied)

    Worked for me as well - THANKS!

    I did this and it didnt work for me.  After i do the second step i get the following

    Resetting Interface OK

    Resetting Neighbour OK

    Resetting PAth OK

    Resetting, failed

    Access is denied

    Resetting, OK

    Restart the computer to complete this action.

    Any Ideas on what the failed element is?
