I appreciate your efforts towards resolving the issue.

I would suggest you to try following steps and check if it helps.

a. Press Windows + X keys and click command prompt(admin).

b. Type the following command in command prompt and press Enter.

bcdedit /set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS & bcdedit /set testsigning on

c. Close command prompt.

Turn off the check.

Hold the shift key while clicking on Restart

Select Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart

After Restart select option 7.

    Thanks for this. It's such a big help.

    Well, it hasn't worked (yet) on my Lenovo model 20332 laptop/tablet running 8.1:  after executing the listed commands I 'Update Driver' and the driver is located but the system responds with "Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it."

    I'm hopeful you'll be able to recommend a solution for me.
