I have Acer V3-571 laptop.
I upgraded to windows 8 from windows 7.
Qualcomm Atheros AR5BWB222 Wireless Network Adapter adapter is showing working fine in the device manager ,but wifi is not working.
when I checked the on off soft switch in the Pc setting ,the swith found in disable position.Could anybody assist to solve it?

Well I resolved it by bypassing the wireless adapter and buying a nano external wireless usb thing, it works perfectly now. problem still not fixed however.
I found a way to fix my Network, ive manually uninstalled the Network cards Drivers and downloaded the following file "win78-10.0.0.75-whql" from
http://www.atheros.cz/atheros-wireless-download.php?chipset=81&system=6
and simply installed the driver via the Device Manager

I am also experiencing same issue with windows 8 on Acer Aspire V3-571 with wireless card from Qualcomm Atheros Communications Inc.
Is the issue still persisting or has it been resolved. If resolved can any one provide help. I am getting irritated for wireless getting dropped for every 15mins and status shows as Limited.

I had the same problem, I have contacted Acer, my internet company, and nobody could solve my problem. I found it by myself. You have to change the power options in the network adapter from maximum power saving to maximum performance. You can change that in advanced power options. It has been working without any problem for the last week.
