I have Acer V3-571 laptop.

I upgraded to windows 8 from windows 7.

Qualcomm Atheros AR5BWB222 Wireless Network Adapter adapter is showing working fine in the device manager ,but wifi is not working.

when I checked the on off soft switch in the Pc setting ,the swith found in disable position.Could anybody assist to solve it?

Well I resolved it by bypassing the wireless adapter and buying a nano external wireless usb thing, it works perfectly now. problem still not fixed however.

I found a way to fix my Network, ive manually uninstalled the Network cards Drivers and downloaded the following file "win78-10.0.0.75-whql" from

http://www.atheros.cz/atheros-wireless-download.php?chipset=81&system=6

and simply installed the driver via the Device Manager

    If you still have a hard time installing it, Simple head over to 

    http://www.acer.ca/ac/en/CA/content/drivers

    Select your Laptop and OS and simple install.

    I would love to try this as I've already exhausted all of the other possible solutions however seeing as how I can't connec to the internet, I hae no way to download it. Any soutins?

    The problem is the Bluetooth Device taking over the connection.

    1. Right in My Computer icon
    2. Go to Device Manager
    3. Go to Network Adapters
    4. Select Bluetooth Device
    5. Right click and select Disable

    if you have more that one Bluetooth Device you must disable all.

    Example:  Bluetooth Device (Personal Area Network)

                   Bluetooth Device (RFCOMM Protocol TDI)

    Now try to connect, to your wifi as normal, you may need to enter your wifi password.

    Use clean installation!!! All problems gone. 100% work. Don't forget make backup!
