What is a bad pool header and how do I fix it?

Windows has been taking 30 or so minutes to start. I've tried repairing it but nothing seems to work and now I'm getting a blue screen that says "bad pool header".

Hi,

Have you made any changes to the computer prior to the issue?
Do you get any specific error codes?

A pool header issue is a problem with Windows memory allocation. Device driver issues are probably the most common, but this can have diverse causes including bad sectors or other disk write issues, and problems with some routers. (By theory, RAM problems would be suspect for memory pool issues).

Method 1:

Disconnect any external devices connected to the computer except the mouse and keyboard, check what happens.

With Windows 7, you can run a check disk from system recovery options using command prompt.

Method 2:

If the above step fails follow the steps:

Step 1:

Restart computer in safe mode and check if the issue persists. Follow the steps in the link:

Step 2:

If safe mode works restart computer in clean boot and check if the issue persists.Follow “step 1” in the link to enable to clean boot:

Follow the step 7 from the article to “Reset the computer to start as usual”, after performing the clean boot troubleshooting.

Method 3:

If the above step fails follow the steps in the link:

I have had a week of issues with Bad Pool Header . . . restarted so many times its untrue . . . reset the PC 10+ times now . . bought new SSD for the OS.

Still the issue persists.

I can only think its the ram . . . but with no means of narrowing down the issue . . . ie. a system that says its XXXX

rather than online information that says it could be . . .

Bad sectors on hard drives

Registry Keys

Ram

Device drivers

Its getting to the stage now were Im looking to replace my RAM . . . by the time Ive finished Ill have a new Computer . . .

Thinking of cutting my losses and getting rid of the real issue . . . . Windows 10

bsod right acting on what I have learned there is some ways of stopping this from happening

there is a folder in windows folder called temp and prefect and tasks these must all be empty as the data stored inthese can cause failures in the system alsodo a clean disk and tick all boxes in these this will remove any junk from the back graces

and if you are using windows 7 disable desktop windows manager in services this will stop the machine glitching dont do it if you are using windows 10 as your system will crash I know I have had a few of people calling me about that happening

After the error and blue screen the pc does a self restart the issue is corrected. This is a very random issue but it does occur. What I want to know is if there is a way to fix it permanently?
