What is a bad pool header and how do I fix it?

Windows has been taking 30 or so minutes to start. I've tried repairing it but nothing seems to work and now I'm getting a blue screen that says "bad pool header".

Hi,

Have you made any changes to the computer prior to the issue?
Do you get any specific error codes?

A pool header issue is a problem with Windows memory allocation. Device driver issues are probably the most common, but this can have diverse causes including bad sectors or other disk write issues, and problems with some routers. (By theory, RAM problems would be suspect for memory pool issues).

Method 1:

Disconnect any external devices connected to the computer except the mouse and keyboard, check what happens.

With Windows 7, you can run a check disk from system recovery options using command prompt.

Method 2:

If the above step fails follow the steps:

Step 1:

Restart computer in safe mode and check if the issue persists. Follow the steps in the link:

Step 2:

If safe mode works restart computer in clean boot and check if the issue persists.Follow “step 1” in the link to enable to clean boot:

Follow the step 7 from the article to “Reset the computer to start as usual”, after performing the clean boot troubleshooting.

Method 3:

If the above step fails follow the steps in the link:

bsod right acting on what I have learned there is some ways of stopping this from happening

there is a folder in windows folder called temp and prefect and tasks these must all be empty as the data stored inthese can cause failures in the system alsodo a clean disk and tick all boxes in these this will remove any junk from the back graces

and if you are using windows 7 disable desktop windows manager in services this will stop the machine glitching dont do it if you are using windows 10 as your system will crash I know I have had a few of people calling me about that happening

After the error and blue screen the pc does a self restart the issue is corrected. This is a very random issue but it does occur. What I want to know is if there is a way to fix it permanently?

any related problem to the bad pool issues are down to registry it hold too much junk

by cleaning it the problem stop's happening

most common software creates junk in the registry and this junk can cause failure in the data stream

the software that you use is good for some reasons but the 1 I approve is wisecare 365 this program has got me out of so much crap in the past

and restored the system back to its former graces

because this software allows you to undo what you have done so if you have done a mistake you can undo it

and it really is the best in my mind

this is not a promo for the software MS knows what I say works and the better a system is at running it is better at working
