I have been a loyal Zune/XBOX customer for years and now looking to replace my 8gb Zune that I've had for 4 or 5 years and cannot find a Zune HD anywhere. Since it's been discontinued Amazon has jacked up the price of a new one. I honestly think that Zune is far superior to Ipod in the MP3 department. Now I'm gonna be forced to buy an Ipod Touch. I kinda feel betrayed by Microsoft.

Thank you for your question and your concern. I believe the answer can be summed up with in the first sentence of the press release, "...going forward, Windows Phone will be the focus of our mobile music and video strategy, and that we will no longer be producing Zune players". We appreciate and share your feelings regarding the Zune device, however we have decided to move forward with a new strategy and we hope that we will be able to get you back on board soon.

Has anyone tried purchasing a cheap unlocked Windows Phone 7 for ZunePass use yet? Say what you will but my wife and I will not switch to Windows Phone 7 as our primary mobile phone. ZunePass doesn't care if it's on an unlocked phone without any cell service, does it? I can't imagine why it would require that.
Yes it shouldn't matter whether it unlocked or not, as I've giving my buddy my unlocked Samsung Focus while I await my HTC Titan and it syncs perfectly
The Zune brand as a whole was just excellent. and im not saying this as a Microsoft fan, but i just found the old zune 30 my dad got when i was twelve and rembered zunes fate. i liked the interface better and dident understand why all my friends had ipods when something that had wifi and could share music was selling for cheaper. anyway im really hoping for a ZHD2 that runs windows phone apps, but has the ZHD interface. that would be really cool.
This is a bunch of B.S. Microsoft should at least continue to make them and sell them on zune.net or Microsoft store. At least keep your loyal customers from jumping ship. I pods suck, sound quality is lacking compared to the Zune. I don't want to jump to apple. I have 3 Zune's, The 1st gen 30 gb.,120 gb and Zune hd. My zune 30 is old and is a little beat up but it still sounds great. I want to replace it but only Amazon has them for $300.00 or more.

I feel betrayed as well. I bought my Zune HD16 about 2 years ago. Loved it from day one. Love the Zune Pass as well,still subscribe to that. I really don't know where I heard about ZuneHD, probably in a forum somewhere. Anyways, after the lack of advertising and support for HD what do they expect?
But why should they expect me to go out and buy any other MS product, be it phone, tablet, gaming system, or even a mouse after they discontinue this one item after virtually no support? Why should I or anyone buy a Windows phone if in two years they're gonna say 'Sorry, the demand wasn't there'?
