for my Windows 7 Pro 64 bit system now every time i reboot the computer windows automatically downloads and then installs the Microsoft intellitype pro software. First apun rebooting I get the small icon in the system tray that indicates that something is being installed i click on it i then get a message telling me [Driver software installation / Installing device driver software / Microsoft hardware USB keyboard] then after that i get another window that pops up this one says: [Downloading Microsoft Intellitype Pro / Driver installation complete. Downloading keyboard configuration software (Microsoft IntelliType Pro) after that a bubble appears in my system tray telling me that the device had been installed sucessfully.
Then life goes on ...... But i would like to know what happened so I can stop this, its very annoying
Some things I have done to try to fix the problem
1.) Uninstalled the microsoft intellitype pro 8.0 and the Microsoft intellipoint 8.0 software from add remove programs list... reboot ...problem still exists
I was hoping someone else had some more ideas :)
THANK YOU!
PS I have Microsoft Digital Media Keyboard 3000 v1.0
Mouse drivers were installed & works just fine No Problems there!

yep u guys are expierencing the same problem allright!
same problem here but no icon in systray just small window when i get to desktop saying installation complete and downloading something. these update were last nite feb 21st.
windows 7 64 bit.
i have microsoft digital media keyboard 3000 and mouse that came with it is wheel mouse optical.
the updates said other hardware yet the drivers appear to be same as i had version 8
*********************UPDATE..... i rolled back to yesterday prior to this update and all is well again.... i should have known better as i rarely get an drivers from windows update... i always go to hardware site and see if they have new driver for item and get it there. lo and behold they don't show any items other that what i already had. Reliabilty History shows those 2 drivers and a few other HID items (human Interface Devices) that go with most USB hardware like this.
love to see an MS fix on this...i went to windows update and right clicked the items and choose "hide item" for both as i don't wish this issue on my machine again!
MS will never get wind of this unless someone puts in a help ticket and even then most of the help is outsourced and doesn't get you anywhere as the email exchange will have you doing about the same as dell's support would as they both go through a troubleshooting guide which is useless for this issue.
I have same problem. Anyone know how to fix this?
I have Microsoft Natural Keyboard 4000.
Mouse is Microsoft Explorer, but its working fine. Drivers where installed with no problem.
Windows 7 64-bit
