IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL blue screen

Already happend - the onboard soundcard stopped to work - so i had to deactivate it in the bios a while ago and deinstall the drivers.

I got a SB Live! 24-Bit now from Creative and also got the latest drivers "SB24_PCDRV_LB_1_04_0090" - wich are the newest for this model

i even looked up the modelnumber on my card "SB0410" so that shouldn't be the problem.

But quick update: I moved the soundcard up by 1 slot and cleaned it from dust and other stuff that could have caused to problems ( looked like smth glueish was on it - i rubbed it off carefully ) maybe that made short time overload or a short, idk i will test it now on the 2nd PCI bench and keep you updated.

I got the version number F7, there's only F8 and F9 - both don't have updates that would help me in any way and F10 is Beta nty.

Also i never heared an PC analytic program telling me to update my Video BIOS o_O - are there even any Grafic card manufacturer that have Video BIOS updates available? never heared of that.

Hi,

BIOS updates come from the System Maker or MotherBoard Maker for custom systems.

Make sure you update the Sound drivers at the same time from System Maker pr MotherBoard

Maker's site. There may be updated drivers available from the Sound Device Maker's Site.

You can disable the on-board sound in the BIOS and use an add-in Sound card or a USB sound

card. (If the sound card is an issue.)

I already tried all of the steps above and even more =\

• memory check => everything is ok
• pagefile => deleted and recreated
• Update Windows => Happens automaticly
• Raid Controller => None
• Latest Drivers => Done
• Latest Updates => Yup
• KB974431 => Also Already Installed

well atleast i got rid of the Bluescreen from my Video Card - but it seems like my Sound card loves those..

Could it help if i switch the Soundcarts socket on the mainboard? - there are 2 PCI's and i put it into the lower one; could that help or isn't it worth trying? cuz i'd have to break the metal for that :x

p.s: most of the things mentioned i should check in my BIOS ... i just can't seem to find them there :|

edit:\ I just used SiSoftware Sandra to analyze for system Problems and it told me this:

• My Ram is not Registred or Buffered and i should do that ( tho idk how - already checked)
• It's telling my my 2nd CPU Sensor has 82°C; wich can't be true :S - since my CPU is running at 40-60°C
• WmiPrvSE.exe doesn't exist anymore
• sppsvc.exe doesn't exist anymore
• PrintIsolationHost doesn't exist anymore
• Midi output driver G5 Invalid ( i got the newest driver for my card =\  - tho who cares about Midi )
• ATI (AMD) IXP SB600 PCI to PCI Bridge: 'VGA palette snooping' should be deactivated (how?)
• Mainboard Temperature too high ( weird it's at 36°C )
• Also it's telling my my CPU is not able to run in bus  "master"

=> And wth while scanning my soundcard just stopped working o_O what ever i play .. nothing.. hate ;_; - i think creative doesn't support their old products as much as they should =..

Think video drivers though there can be other causes such as BIOS and memory.

dxgmms1.sys crash – Blue Screen Of Death (others video drivers besides Nvidia can cause this)

If there are RAID drivers they are very suspect and/or driver problems are very real prospects. 

Other major possibilities are Video and other drivers. See the driver section in my generic

bluescreen troubleshooting methods below. BIOS, low level chipset drivers, memory and

antivirus/antispyway/security programs can also cause this. Check the troubleshooter and when

you get to the driver section refer to the generic methods in next message and then return to

the troubleshooter if needed.

A driver tried to access an address that is pageable (or that is completely invalid) while the IRQL was too high.

This bug check is usually caused by drivers that have used improper addresses.

If the first parameter has the same value as the fourth parameter, and the third parameter indicates an execute operation, this bug check was likely caused by a driver that was trying to execute code when the code itself was paged out. Possible causes for the page fault include the following:

• The function was marked as pageable and was running at an elevated IRQL (which includes obtaining a lock).
• The function call was made to a function in another driver, and that driver was unloaded.
• The function was called by using a function pointer that was an invalid pointer.
