I have Windows Phone 7 (HTC HD), recently I experience problems with syncing my gmail and hotmail accounts (recieving error code: 80072EFD) and Facebook (recieving error code: 83CF0108) when using mobile internet. More over I can't open gmail.com in a browser as well. When I use Wi-Fi everything is ok. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi gedzius,

When you are using wifi everything is fine, right?

Please verify that on your Windows Phone, all configuration is okay:

  • Settings -> Mobile Network -> Data Connection is on "On"
  • Settings -> Mobile Network -> 3G connection is on "On"

Thanks, Tristan

It seems that this MAJOR problem has been carried through to WP8 phones as well, both my HTC Windows 8x and now Nokia Lumia 925 chronically experience this issue! Similar to if you have the wrong password on your Live account in Settings -> Email + Accounts section. Problem is you can never seem to get the thing to accept the correct password for the Microsoft Account (kind of lame as this is a Microsoft Phone).

I verified that the following settings were applied, I even changed them rebooted, changed them back rebooted and no dice...of course this "fix" or Answered support question goes back to,WP7 and Mango (...because it's sweeter than an Apple), so selecting 3G connection is "On" in the highest network connection for a 4g phone is obviously wrong, though I have tried both 3g and 4g settings neither solved it.

MS please get this solved now and put out an update to fix this not simply an answered thread even if you have to open a "Crit Sit" to do it!

i had the same problem with my Nokia lumia 505, the only solution was reset the phone. I did that about a week ago and so far it is working fine.

For HTC with phones @7.5 I ran the Connection Setup app from the app list. It basically reset the connection for me on my HTC radar and actually there was a bit of speed increase. Carrier I use is T-mobile USA on an unlocked phone. So worth a shot. Run the COnnection Setup and then restart device. Hope it works.
