Near the scrolling wheel is a dpi button, which also can be used to switch
between normal and media mode by holding it for 3 seconds. In the media mode
the wheel controls the volume and does not scroll.

Original Title: Mouse scroll wheel only adjusts the volume. How do I get it to scroll pages again?
Using wireless mouse (Silvercrest MTS2218-m with win 7 x64) and scroll wheel no longer scrolls page up and down in any program. It only adjusts the volume. How do I get it to scroll pages again?
Have already checked settings in control panel>mouse nothing obvious there to change this annoying feature. And have already uninstalled mouse driver in device manager but no change. have also shut down and started up laptop several times.

Hi,
1. Have you checked whether the mouse works fine on a different system?
Try to connect the device to a different computer and then check.
If the issue persists, I would suggest you to contact manufacturer for further assistance.
Thank you.
Thanks for your help but unfortunately this has not solved my problem. The problem persisted in safe mode. I turned off all startup items and services including microsoft services and the problem still didn't go away. My graphics driver is up to date according to microsoft update. I have even completely updated windows and still no good. Can anybody please help as I would rather not have to do a complete reinstall of windows. Yes a little extreme I know but that's how irritating I find this problem.
