Mouse Scroll not working to scroll pages. only can Change the Volume control. How to fix it?

Original Title: Mouse scroll wheel only adjusts the volume. How do I get it to scroll pages again?

Using wireless mouse (Silvercrest MTS2218-m with win 7 x64) and scroll wheel no longer scrolls page up and down in any program. It only adjusts the volume. How do I get it to scroll pages again?

Have already checked settings in control panel>mouse nothing obvious there to change this annoying feature. And have already uninstalled mouse driver in device manager but no change. have also shut down and started up laptop several times.

Near the scrolling wheel is a dpi button, which also can be used to switch

between normal and media mode by holding it for 3 seconds. In the media mode

the wheel controls the volume and does not scroll.

Read the manual...   ;-)

Hi,

1.     Have you checked whether the mouse works fine on a different system?

Try to connect the device to a different computer and then check.

If the issue persists, I would suggest you to contact manufacturer for further assistance.

    Ok. So this was happening to me 5 Minutes ago.

    I was looking at this page and nothing was working. 

    Then I realize my keyboard use to switch W A S D and the arrow keys,

    and all I had to do to fix it was unplug the keyboard and replug it.

    So I tried to unplug then replug my mouse. It worked luckily!

    If this doesn't work try using it on something different. If it

    still does that your mouse has a problem. You might have to call

    the company and get further assitance. If you cannot call see if they have a website

    If they do see if there is something like a tab on the microsft website ask a question.

    If not you might need further assitance.
