SI.LK, I tried this, unsuccessfully. My last update in Windows 7 64-bit was in January. When I tried to load KB3020369 I got a message saying it had already been installed. When I tried KB3172605 I got a message saying it was incompatible with my computer. You do have me worried about the memory issue, as my computer is very slow. I am thinking it is related to the Update issue.

Mr. Volume Z: Thank you very much sir. I did not post here, but I did follow your running support of others (while attempting other fixes concurrently). The two KB patches you advised recently apparently was the fix, although I had problems with that as well until I switched Windows Update to "never". After that... success. I'm going to automate Windows Update notifying me of updates once again, and hopefully I won't have any further trouble keeping my computer current and patched. So again, thanks for the time you lend to helping others.

After a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit, download and install the latest update agent from https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/949104 This fixed it for me!

Problem solved.

It was my internet connection!! I logged onto my neighbors via wireless unsecured (ssh... don't tell lol), and within 30 seconds, 77 updates came through!

It has to be something in my network.

After a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit, download and install the latest update agent from https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/949104

This fixed it for me!
