This has worked for me every time: The solution: Stop the Windows Update Service (wuauserv). Download and install KB3050265 reboot Download and install KB3102810 Reboot and check for updates again. All of our machines found their required updates in less than 5 minutes.

I downloaded it and restarted the computer, then came back and ran the program and followed the directions. When I got done I downloaded 221 updates. Now I can't get past checking for updates again. My updates failed installing Internet Explorer 11 during the 221 updates and I had to stop the update after several wasted hours. Now what?

Problem solved.

It was my internet connection!! I logged onto my neighbors via wireless unsecured (ssh... don't tell lol), and within 30 seconds, 77 updates came through!

It has to be something in my network.

I had this exact same problem and chanced upon a file KB3102810-x64 from Microsoft. I downloaded it and restarted the computer, then came back and ran the program and followed the directions.
