Microsoft doesn't support that much WIN7 anymore, most of the servers are busy by updating and supporting win8 and 10. Users updating WIN7 are in an waiting line. Simpe as that.

3135445 is outdated. Install the superior KB3161647, included in the June 2016 Update Rollup. Installing the 5 updates on the link you gave with windows standalone installer allowed windows updating search to find 78 updates in a few minutes and dropped the CPU percentage use the svchost.exe was using. As Vista gets older it more difficult to find good support information for it.

Problem solved.

It was my internet connection!! I logged onto my neighbors via wireless unsecured (ssh... don't tell lol), and within 30 seconds, 77 updates came through!

It has to be something in my network.

Thank you, I've been trying for 3 days to get the Windows updates on this Vista 32 machine, even used a third party Windows update installer. Installing the 5 updates on the link you gave with windows standalone installer allowed windows updating search to find 78 updates in a few minutes and dropped the CPU percentage use the svchost.exe was using. As Vista gets older it more difficult to find good support information for it.
