Yes, I found your post to be very helpful. Unfortunately, it just didn't last. My computer crashed with the next set of downloads. I'm talking about a black death - everything. The second time it crashed I even paid dearly for "professional" help. It lasted a little longer and crashed again - for good. Then I switched to my Dell. Things were fine for awhile and then it started all over again until it crashed too. I just decided that I've invested way too much time, energy and expense on a good (but not great) W10 OS. Microsoft should have thought this through instead of taking their loyal following for granted. It wasn't an easy decision until I realized how often I've had to fix a quirk or two in one of their systems over the decades. Once that became apparent I decided to switch to a MAC as soon as possible. I just want more time ON a computer instead of FIXING one. Thanks and good luck.

If you go back a number of pages you will find a post I put up here on what I did to fix the problem on my Windows 7 computer. I did more steps and tried a lot more things that merely installing a few fixes. I eventually got the problem fixed. Since these other posts have not done it for you, you may want to look at my prior (long) post.

Problem solved.

It was my internet connection!! I logged onto my neighbors via wireless unsecured (ssh... don't tell lol), and within 30 seconds, 77 updates came through!

It has to be something in my network.
